Behind the scenes I’m working on my new website, valescavanwaveren.com. The logo is already out there though, in my newly transformed etsy shop. From now on, I will sell my prints there, as well as my ceramics.
This weekend I donated The Simple Things print to be part of the Coffee Art Project during the Coffee Festival Amsterdam. The project raised money to support much-needed clean water and sanitation initiatives in coffee producing countries.
This spring there are so many outstanding pop-up events, with so much talent and beautiful heartdriven shops, that spring feels more inviting than ever to get OUT there and open your senses. The 12th and 13th of April, there was the heavenly ‘Pots and paper’ pop-up at the first floor of Hear Hear, organized together with Our strange nature.
I was with my little one, so taking pictures of all the nice things was not an option since I had to watch out for him not grasping all the beautiful ceramics. Luckily, Inspire Styling Anne van Midden wrote this great post about it.
And than there were these two great events this weekend. De leukste Campingwinkel van Amsterdam at Roest and the Local Goods Weekend Market in the Hallen, what a great location.
Earlier this year Best Wishes Magazine asked me what I was thinking about Amsterdam. I claimed that Amsterdam is getting it’s mojo back, because of all the new initiatives that arise. These events I’m popping about so wildly enthusiastic definitely support that claim.
Sometimes the ‘Before’ is better than the ‘After’… I just finished this tea tray at my ceramics course at Keramiek Centrum Amsterdam. I had decided to use some of those fluor stickers as a way of masking the clay before I painted it with engobe. While doing so I fell completely in love with the fluor and clay combination… I proceeded as planned anyway, and the result is this red confetti tray. It fits perfectly in my plans for making a collection of tea trays.
But I now definitely am on the look out for a way to make a fluor/clay combination.

This christmas was the most bizar ever! The worst and the best happened both at the same time. I’ll spare you the details but must admit it caused seriously bad blogging behaviour. Of course New Yearsday 2008 I got myself a good resolution: blog better!
